People with food insecurity often have other social needs, ranging from transportation to housing to childcare. In 2019, the Figueroa Wu Family Foundation partnered with John Marshall Law School in order to provide essential wraparound social services. The UI Health Advocacy Clinic will help coordinate support services for its clients free of cost.
Please join us to help us rebuild rural parts of Puerto Rico! A group of volunteers (engineers, college students, health professions students, professionals, physicians, and dentists) will be traveling to Yauco (SW mountainous Puerto Rico) to assist in rebuilding efforts and to deliver health care. Please consider hosting a fundraiser or traveling with us! If you are unable to donate for the entire length of the trip, please consider coming for a few days to help repair roofs, paint, and clear debris. We need all hands on deck!
Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in September of 2017 and the island territory is still recovering. After collecting donations, supplies and medicine stateside, Dr. Figueroa traveled to Puerto Rico from November 13th - 19th.
