Utilities in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria

Donations from this fund supported clean water and power mainly to Yauco (southwest island), but in smaller degrees to families in central island communities such as Corozal, Barranquitas, and Naranjito. Much has been learned from the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Maria and the FWFF continues to work with community leaders in Yauco to strengthen its resources and disaster preparedness plans.

High voltage lines were down in every direction during Evelyn's November 2017 trip. The thick wires were tangled around one another, leaning against buildings including gasoline stations.
